First of all, don't hesitate to shoot me an e-mail or call about an idea. I'm very flexible with
price and medium and I'm always open to new ideas. I simply want the customer to be happy with the end product.
Later, after college, I will need to present a porfolio of pieces for work, graduate school, galleries,
exhibits, etc. The strength of the portfolio for an artist is the equivilent of a written resume for a business student.
THE PROCESS
Initially, I get a phone call or an e-mail from a client usually referrals by word of
mouth. The idea may be specific or vague.
Next, I will try to show a client at least one physical piece of past work to get a better
idea of scale and craftsmanship.
After we start to hone an initial idea, the next question is always price. As a ballpark figure I work
with about $10 an hour. Time can vary between a couple hours and several weeks of time. Most of my projects are around $200-$300.
Price is ALWAYS flexible to meet the client's needs.
Generally, I work from life or pictures. The client can either chose to send me their own pictures or
I can take my own.
I usually ask for about two weeks to complete the project (depending on scale and medium).
Some projects have deadlines (such as for an event), some don't care. Again, I try to be as flexible as possible.
I also do framing. My intention is to save the client money and give it a clean professional look.
